Words for Time with Hubby

For all the poems
I’ve written in my head,
None of them ever did justice
To the years you and I have had.

Do I write about your curry?
The very best in Spain.
Oh, how you turn to masterpieces culinary
Everyday ingredients so plain!

Or that time of day, most sacred,
that I call Sofa Time with Hubby?
But that goes for any time with you,
The best (and my favorite!) form of ordinary.

Or that for every moment of
love, laughter, and fun,
against a moment of sadness
is an easy million to one?

How about the music of your presence;
The warmth of your embrace;
Or the peace that fills me when,
upon you, falls my gaze?

Maybe just how you, yes you,
make the whole difference,
between a life so full, so joyful,
and mere existence so dull?

Oh, mi amor Carlos -
For words, I’m still at a loss!

In an ever more insane world
of the diminished written word,
Finding the right ones for you…
Where do I even start? Not a single clue.

All I know is that,
In human life so fleeting,
You give mine moments everlasting,
And fill it with much meaning.
